POLITICS: kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello Finally Appoints His Deputy, He is Achubauba


Reports reaching Edeson Online News disclose that Hon. Simon Achuba has been picked by Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello as the deputy governor of the state. Governor Bello has sent a letter to the State House of Assembly, asked the lawmakers to confirm Achu­ba as his deputy. Bello decided to appoint another deputy following the refusal of Hon. James Faleke, the running mate of late Prince Audu.

POLITICS: Governor Idris Wada Sacks Local Government Chairmen for Defecting to APC

 Kogi State Governor Idris Wada, yesterday, sacked 15 chairmen of local governments from office for betraying PDP. Edeson Online News learnt the sacked chairmen defected to APC. Some of the affected council chairmen include that of Lokoja, Ogori-Magongo, Idah, Adavi, Ankpa, Okehi, Bassa, Yagba East, Yagba West and Okene among others.

POLITICS: APC to Conduct a Fresh Primary Election in Kogi to Replace Audu

APC has announced it will conduct a fresh primary election to replace late Abubarkar Audu as Kogi State Governorship candidate, Edeson Online News learns. APC chairman, John Oyegun, disclosed this at the National Secretariat of the Party in Abuja, today. Oyegun said it received a letter from INEC to replace Audu. Though, Oyegun did not reveal the date for the re-run primary election in Kogi, it is expected to be this week since INEC has scheduled the supplementary election for December 5.
