Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Monday resumed duty as the director general of the World Trade Organisation, weeks after her appointment was endorsed by the United States and approved by the trade organization. Her appointment was ratified on February 15. “WTO members have just agreed to appoint Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the next director-general,” the global trade body said in a statement.

Nigeria Govt To Resume Oil Exploration In Lake Chad Basin

                                   

 The oil exploration in the area was suspended by the Nigerian Government in July 2017 after suspected members of Boko Haram sect attacked a team of geological engineers from the University of Maiduguri who were engaged by Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to carry out a survey of the Lake Chad region in Borno State towards the commencement of oil exploration.

NNPC To Stop Managing Nigeria's Refineries. Private Firm To Manage It

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will no longer be involved in the management of the nation’s refineries after their rehabilitation. Its Group Managing Director (GMD ) Mallam Mele Kyari, disclosed this in an interview on Arise TV breakfast programme, The Morning Show on Wednesday.

Clean-Up Nigeria has rated Akwa Ibom State as the cleanest state in Nigeria beating the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by two per cent. In a statement, Clean-Up Nigeria, said the ratings submitted by the National Technical Study Group (NTSG) showed that Akwa Ibom State scored 68 per cent, followed by Abuja with 66 per cent.
