Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State is holding talks with the Japan-African Union Parliamentary Friendship Committee in Tokyo on how to improve transportation in the state. Ambode, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Habib Aruna, said the meeting which was to woo Japanese investors, was being attended by two members of Japan House of Representatives.
The governor gave their names as Ichiro Aisawa and Asahiko Mihara. He said his presence in Japan was pursuant to his determination to achieve infrastructure renewal for the state.
“Lagos and Tokyo share many similarities including huge populations which require a comprehensive transportation and urban management strategy to deal with.
“Japan is also a city Lagos should aspire to be, in terms of vertical development, land space optimisation, and efficiency,’’ Ambode said.
During the week, the Governor also visited the headquarters of Yurikamome Incorporated, a light rail transportation facility, which connects the down town Tokyo with Tokyo Waterfront City.

Endy with Ambode achievement in every part of Lagos in the last 3years, this guy still go about attracting investor in far China👍👍👍. Unlike Federal government that busy doing talking and blame game achieving nothing

You are right Jeremiah, he is only on the movers but the workers are slowing him down especially the Clean Lagos Initiative, the workers arent doing much in packing the waste on time which now makes some parts of Lagos look dirty
Jeremiah Ademolu
Correct! But another good side of Ambode is, he listen to the people he govern and i hope he will get this issue of clean Lagos right

I hope while in Japan, he will also take a lesson in transparency in governance. Lagos finance is the most opaque in the country. They keep up urging us to pay tax but some Lords are somewhere collecting 15-20% of what we pay without any commensurate service rendered. That's the height of corruption

@Niyeck, Like in the case of Land Use Charge, Nigerian Bar Association Ikeja branch describes it as FRAUD and wants it scrapped. The government shouldn't milk "poor" citizens. @Poi: I thought Dokpesi will win the PDP chairmanship race due to his campaign popularity. Well, regarding Wike, he is trying. He cannot do everything.
