Former President Jerry Rawlings Of Ghana Is Dead, Aged 73

                                           

Ghanaian President, Akufo-Addo has directed all flags to be flown at half-mast in all parts of the Country, following the death of former President, Jerry Rawlings. The ex-president died at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, capital of Ghana, on Thursday morning. A military ruler, who later joined politics, Rawlings ruled Ghana from 1981 to 2001.

Nigerian Government To Start Supplying Electricity To Chad

                                   

Despite the shortage of power supply in the country, the federal government is in negotiations with the Republic of Chad in an agreement that could see it begin the supply of electricity to the North-Central African country soon. A meeting was recently between the Nigerian team and the Chad Minister of Energy, Mrs Ramatou Houtouin, who flew into Abuja in furtherance of the expected deal, while the Nigerian team was led by top officials of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

Senegalese President Macky Sall has dissolved his 32-strong government team with immediate effect. Sall signed a decree to terminate the functions of all ministers and state secretaries, the presidency said in a statement late on Wednesday. Presidential spokesman, Abdou Latif Coulibaly said Sall had signed a decree to that effect but gave neither a reason for the move nor a date for the formation of a new cabinet.
