What is the meaning of the word Posthumous? Posthumous is an adjective that helps describe something that happens to a person after they die, whether it happens to their estate, their life’s work, or the memory of
them that remains. Today, February 24, 2017 is the 62nd posthumous birthday of Apple Inc Co-founder, Steve Jobs. Apple Inc are makers of the prestigious Apple Computers, iPhone, iPad and iPod brands.

Loosely writing, it is on record that Nigerian Ladies love to receive iPhones as gifts from their boyfriends & husbands. Well, if you have an iPhone, what more can you say than “All thanks and glory be to Steve Jobs”
Who are atheists? They are people who disbelieve or lack belief in the existence of God or gods. They don’t worship Satan either. They think no one knows who created the world, and that the world is a big mystery. Atheists are gentle, intelligent, live with high moral standards, and don’t like trouble. They wish they can remove suffering in the world and make it a better place without any form of religious activities. Steve Jobs was an Atheist before he died in 2011.

What is it that was happening in Nigeria in 1968 that made Steve Jobs to stop going to church? The Nigerian Civil War, better known as the Biafran War, was happening around that time. Precisely, 6 July 1967 – 15 January 1970. It was a war fought to counter the secession of Biafra from Nigeria. Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (born: February 24. Died: 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American entrepreneur, businessman, inventor, and industrial designer. He was the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple Inc. Jobs was born in San Francisco and adopted at birth; he was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1960s. Jobs briefly attended Reed College in 1972 before dropping out.

His parents wanted him to have a religious upbringing, so they took him to church most Sundays. That came to an end when he became 13 years old. In July 1968 “Life” magazine published a shocking cover showing a pair of starving children in Biafra during Nigerian Civil War. Steve Jobs took it to Sunday school and confronted the church’s pastor. “If I raise my finger, will God know which one I’m going to raise even before I do it? The pastor answered, “Yes, God knows everything.” Jobs then pulled out the “Life” cover and asked, “Well, does God know about this and what’s going to happen to those children in Biafra?” . “Steve, I know you don’t understand, but yes, God knows about that.” – Pastor replied.

Due to this reason, Jobs announced that he didn’t want to have anything to do with worshipping such a God, and he never went back to church. He felt disappointed in Christians after seeing what happened in Biafra and how the so-called Christian nations handled the disgusting Nigerian Genocide in Biafra.
Though, he is dead and gone but his inventions and businesses are still impacting lives around the world. May his soul continue to rest in peace.
