WORLD NEWS: Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff Impeached for Manipulating Budget

President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff has been impeached by the country's senate for manipulating budget or what Nigerians would refer as "Budget Padding".. 61 senators voted in favour of her impeachment and 20
against, meeting the two-thirds majority needed to remove her from the presidency.

Acting President Michel Temer will serve out Ms Rousseff's term, which ends on 1 January 2019. Ms Rousseff had been suspended in May. She was accused of moving funds between government budgets, which is illegal under Brazilian law.

Can this happen in Nigeria?

Endy Edeson,Recall and Impeachment are two distinct words.

To recall a political official is an expression of total dissatisfaction

of performance on an elected official and consequencially directing a recall process to remove that person from office..hence it is a political removal In layman language..

However, Impeachment is an indictment on an elected official found wanting of a crime and subsequently removed from office,however such a person might face prosecution if the need arise.

Example of this is the call for Saraki to resign or perhaps be impeached based on alleged falsified asset declaration and his arraignment at the code of conduct bureau..

The same call is presently orchestrated for Dogora for Budget padding.

@Muyiwa: I know but my context for using "Recall and Impeachment" as the same in Nigerian politics is the "RIGIDITY" it involves to use the former and latter to pull out an official in power. Thanks for throwing more light on the subject.
