MATTERS ARISING: Do You Support N56,000 Minimum Wage for Nigerian Workers ?

...
The Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress yesterday moved the motion for N56,000 minimum wage for civil servants. The groups in a unanimous decision has urged the federal government to do the needful regarding their demand. The demand comes just few weeks to the commemoration of Workers Day on May 1st. Presently the minimum wage for civil servants is N18,000.

QUESTION:
1. Is Nigeria viable enough to pay N56,000 as minimum wage?
2. Is it a right time for NUC & TUC to make the demand?
LET’S HAVE YOUR VIEWS. Thanks.
