Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi yesterday at the All Progressives
Congress maga rally at the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium in Ikwerre, Rivers
State to mark his seventh anniversary in office, told Rivers State
people to vote for Northerners who are Muslims because they rule better. He also corrected the opinion that President Jonathan is his brother,
stating that, if you say he is our brother, what has he done for this
state? He is not my brother; my brother is the man who delivers on his
services for me. If the President says he is our brother, let him
mention one project he has done for us, he said.
“But the refinery in Rivers was built and commissioned by Tafawa Balewa; he was a northerner. Shagari started NAFCON, IBB commissioned; IBB started the Eleme Petrochemical, Abacha completed it.
“They are all northerners; they are all Muslims. NLNG was started and completed by Abacha and he was a northerner and a Muslim. Bonny NLNG, NDDC, Niger Delta Ministry were established by northerners,” he said while buttressing his points.
PRESIDENT JONATHAN REPLIES AMECHI
Here is the president’s response to Governor Amaechi’s speech at his Port Harcourt mega-rally yesterday were he called out the president on certain issues.
Governor Rotimi Amaechi took his obnoxious willingness to denigrate the highest office in the land in a reckless bid to advance his selfish political interests to a new level of irresponsible and rascally behaviour yesterday in Port Harcourt with his totally false and baseless vituperations against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal Government.
It appears from the Governor's completely unfounded and off-the-mark allegations that he had totally lost all sense of propriety, decorum and responsible political behaviour and resorted to unacceptable demagoguery, libel, blackmail and incitement of public disorder unless his unbridled ambition and desire for self- promotion have completely befuddled his mental faculties and caused him to totally lose touch with reality, Governor Amaechi must know that his claims and allegations are untrue.
We can only assume therefore that he is deliberately spewing malicious falsehood in a desperate effort to incite the people of Rivers State and Nigeria against his assumed political foes.
We warn him that there are legal, constitutional and moral limits to political rascality beyond which he will not be allowed to go without repercussions.

@Alaribe:
without taking sides, i wasn't impressed with the way Amechi addressed
his opponent yesterday. He and every other politician should learn how
to talk in public. i was really disappointed at the manner he insulted
President Goodluck Jonathan and the First Lady. even if he has issues
with them, he shouldn't use any political gathering to attack them
verbally. Jonathan is supposed to be his brother, he left PDP that
brought him to this level to join forces with northern leaders of APC.
it's really absurd. i'm not really biased here but Governor Amechi
should reason and behave well

with
all the noise Amaechi makes.... the President never for once
responded.. that tells how wise the President is and how STUPID our
governor is... you cant be verbally attacking your President for several
years and no one in his cabinet has even replied for once. I have pity
for Amaechi because he is swimming in troubled waters

Amaechi
is drawn, he's looking for what to hold. I salute mr president cos the
gentlility of a tiger is not the stupidity of a lion. Let amaechi keep
running mouth like typewritter, em de talk like market women.

Alaribe...
u got the right question.... so 'anxious' for power.... for this
anxiety, they lose strategy... rather they approach politics in ways
that make some of us to brand them as AREA BOYS..
