1. Five members of the Jehovah's Witness religious group have been detained in Russia on weapons and extremism charges, investigators say. The justice ministry argued the group distributed pamphlets which incited hatred of other groups, and the country's Supreme Court then upheld the ban against it.
2. Sharon Oyakhilome, daughter of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has revealed
she never had sex or dated her Dutch-born Ghanaian husband, Phillip Frimpong, before marriage.3. Sierra Leone has cancelled a $400m (£304m) Chinese-funded project to build a new airport outside the capital Freetown. The decision comes amid concern that many African countries risk defaulting on their debts to China. Aviation Minister Kabineh Kallon told the BBC that the project, which was due to have been completed in 2022, wasn't necessary and its current international airport would be renovated instead.
4. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, on Tuesday, told Senator George Akume that the type of godfatherism being practised in Lagos State would not work in Benue. Ortom said Akume was attacking him not because he had not performed but because he refused to submit to the control of Akume, who was Benue State Governor between 1999 and 2007.
5. INEC bans APC from fielding candidates in Zamfara for 2019 election. The electoral body in a letter written to APC said the party failed to conduct primaries in the state before the October 7 deadline on the INEC calendar.
6. Saraki swears in two new Senators from Kastina and Bauchi to replace late senator Mustapha Bukar, who died on April 4 and late senator Ali Wakili. The two new Senators are; Lawal Gumau (APC, Bauchi South) and Ahmed Babba-Kaita (APC, Katsina North).
7. American rapper Kanye West to meet president Donald Trump tomorrow in White House. Kanye West is to meet US President Donald Trump on Thursday, the White House has confirmed. The two men are expected to discuss prison reform, gang violence and "manufacturing resurgence" in the US.
8. Coca-Cola Nigeria has unveiled ‘Mama’, the affordable 1Litre PET bottle of Coke. Mama, which embodies the spirit of generosity and kindness of the Nigerian mother, is created to bring families closer by encouraging intimate family moments and making every moment worth sharing for the Nigerian family.
9. Hundreds of passengers are reportedly stranded at the domestic terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2(MMA2) on Wednesday, as aviation unions carried out their shutdown threat over the sack of workers by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited.
