The designer was perhaps best known for styling the likes of former First Lady Jackie Kennedy and actress Audrey Hepburn. In 1952 Givenchy launched his eponymous luxury fashion house. He revolutionized international fashion.
The designer’s death was confirmed by his partner Philippe Venet to AFP News, BBC reports. Venet verified that Givenchy died in his sleep on Saturday.
De Givenchy was born on Feb. 21, 1927 to an an aristocratic family in the provincial city of Beauvais.
