The President is currently in a meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu. The minister has alleged that $25billion contracts have been wrongly awarded by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group Managing Director Dr. Maikanti Baru.
Kachikwu wrote President Muhammadu Buhari on the “bravado management style” employed by Baru as a result of which he has sidelined the minister and the board of the NNPC on matters they should take decisions on.
In the August 30 correspondence, Mr. Kachikwu said Mr. Baru circumvented extant procurement regulations in awarding a series of contracts up to $25 billion —or N9 trillion at prevailing exchange rate of N360 to a dollar— warning of grave consequences the decisions could wreak if allowed to stand.

Outcome. What outcome? There is no damage control that can hide d truth in the letter. All that govt does is to be reactive and never proactive. When madam Taraba wanted to expose ElRufai..govt killed d matter..but we know better now about d Chibok saga. So..nnpc, now we know better as well.
