As condemnation continued to trail the public holiday declared by the Kogi state government over the return of President Muhammadu Buhari, the government said the holiday was to celebrate the coming back of Mr President alive. The director general, media and publicity to the governor, Kingsley
Fanwo, said the holiday also afforded the people of the state the opportunity to pray and fast for the progress of Nigeria and for Buhari to keep waxing stronger for the task ahead. Guys, do you think the reasons are justifiable enough?

The Governor did the right thing. it is the right of the federal government to declare public holiday for his return. we are talking of No 1 citizen of the country. he has been away due to illness, do u know what he passed thru for him to stay long there. pls Nigerians i am in support of him. lets put the president in our shoes before we complain

This is a reason to call for the remove the power of State governors in declaring public holiday though needful at times. I never expect that in this recession era, when administration are looking for more funds into government coffer. A state would declare a holiday not minding the lost resources that can never be recovered again. The best the state should have done is declare a thanksgiving session to celebrate the President arrival.
