The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly known simply as Wimbledon, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious. It has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London, since 1877 and is played on outdoor grass courts.

"Wimbledon was always my favourite tournament. Will always be my favourite tournament," said Federer, who will turn 36 next month and is the oldest male champion at the All England Club in the Open era, which began in 1968.
