He did not just wake up one day to become an online news reporter/blogger or because someone is making it big in blogging. His passion for writing started when he was a teenager. At age 15, he wrote his first book (a pamphlet) titled ‘’Edeson Current Affairs’’. During his teenage years, he enjoyed listening to the news on radio, watching educative TV programs and reading biographies of world heroes. Back then, there were no mobile phones. So, he sent his contributions to radio stations through post office. His passion for writing rejuvenated when he won a poetry competition organised by a radio station in Port-Harcourt.
He met his first love when he was only 16 years old. He wrote a novel titled “Blue Moon” based on true life story of his relationship with his first love. Edeson describes the girl as tall, dark in complexion, beautiful, intelligent with angelic eyes…. He also wrote more than 100 romantic poems for her.
Mr. Edeson wrote his first news report at the tender age of 13. Back then, crisis broke out in his village Rumuji in Emohua L.G.A, Rivers State. The young Edeson sought for the reasons why the village plunged into commotion. After interviewing some residents in the community, he quickly came up with an article titled “Brief Story of Rumuji Crisis’’, typed it and manually distributed it for people to read. He did this act of journalism unaided and was still in junior secondary school.
Many Years later, his dreams to contribute his own quota to the world through writing came to reality when he discovered blogging. He created his first blog in 2008 for sharing personal views. In 2011, he started professional blogging and launched ‘’Edeson Online News’’.
