Oro Festival is an event celebrated by towns and settlements of Yoruba Origin. It is an annual traditional festival that is of patriarchal nature, as it is only celebrated by Male descendants who are paternal natives to the specific locations
where the particular event is taking place.
During the festival, females and non indigenes stay indoors as oral history has it that Oro must not be seen by women and non-participating people. The ceremonies surrounding the celebration of Oro differs from town to town, and one is often called after the death of a monarch.
Orò festival holds today in Ikorodu, you have been warned not to go to Ikorodu until next week. It is a diabolical event, many people die during Orò .

@Godwin: Goodmorning brother. I don't like evil festival at all. For faster development, Lagos and other States that practise outdated and diabolic tradition should abolish it. Unnecessary Ancient culture holds no sway in modern days.

Dont mind this mumu, depe,Omugo ,Olodo, idle fellows that move on with this evil and lies.. Oro is humanbeing, why will they block people from their business because of their idleness..

@Ademolu: Hmmm. I even tried posting the masquarade pic. I don't feel comfortable with barbaric things. The main oro pics might even scare lots of readers here. But, Masquerading isn't it part of Oro? @Farotimi: The Jamb candidiates in Ikorodu should be very careful

They used to pratice this in Shagamu in the year past but today there's nothing like oro in the day anymore expect for special ritual which i'm not even in support

@Jeremiah: Let me tell you, I am a FREETHINKER. I believe if you don't participate or acknowledge the so called "spirit beings" they won't have anything to do with you. The evil beings only attack those that worship it.

@Jeremiah: Sure. Right from my childhood days in Port-Harcourt I always rebuke ancient tradition. Thanks for your insightful comment. NATURE will protect us from evil.

Wonder why some people can't do without bringing tribe into everything, i travel a lot and i know the level of ritual and the so call diabolic in their place. Is all about Africa black continents, and to mention other continents like Asia, in China you dare not enter with Bible or Qurian, Indian worship monkeys, cows, water, goddess...but I know God is my creator and the only one worthy of my worship.
