NIMASA Boss, Dakuku Peterside Elected Chairman of AAMA

Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Dakuku Peterside has been elected as the new Chairman of the Association of African Maritime Administrators (AAMA),

a coordinating body for Maritime Administrations in Africa.

Prior to his appointment as DG/ CEO of NIMASA by president Buhari after loosing 2015 governorship election in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside previously served as Rivers State Commissioner of Works from October 2007 to January 2011.

Upon his new election as AAMA Chairman, President Buhari has congratulated him.

According to Buhari in a statement, “Peterside’s unanimous election is not only a personal honour and affirmation of confidence in his ability to lead AAMA, but also places Nigeria in a pivotal position to rally other maritime administrations in collaboration with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) toward safer global maritime activities.’’
