MasterCard Introduces Fingerprint Payment Cards

Millions of PINs are stolen each year, leaving users to empty debit accounts or fraudulent charges. This outcry prompts credit card companies to add a chip system as a safer alternative to authenticate transactions before credit cards are debited or charged.

One of the world’s largest credit card providers, MasterCard, has started testing its new biometric credit card that includes a user’s fingerprint. Nice. But a bad thought came to my mind. Maybe it due to films I watch all d time. Don't u think people will start losing their thumb to the ATM thief's. Some of these people are heartless. The can start cutting fingers to get print. Just saying no insults please o

@Elfreda: That's true. You are right. Some heartless criminals can go extra miles in getting what they want. The Credit CARD company should consider this factor too. But a big question is: will a dead finger work?

Oke Oluwagbemiga

It will, until the flesh rot the fingerprints still remains.
