Today March 8, 2017 is International Women's Day. It was originally
called International Working Women's Day, celebrated on March 8 every
year. It commemorates the movement for women's rights. There is a call
around the world to end female circumcision as it violates the natural right of women.
Wondering the connection of women’s day, female circumcision and the almighty word called CLITORIS? Continue reading to find out.
The clitoris is a small, sensitive organ located at the top of the vulva, just above the urethra and the vaginal opening. The function of the clitoris is to provide pleasure for women during sex. Many women and girls enjoy touching, or having their partners touch their clitoris because this can be arousing and can also give them an orgasm.
It is estimated that 80 million women worldwide have experienced female circumcision which involves the removal of the clitoris. Most women whose clitoris have been removed find it difficult to enjoy sex.
50% to 75 percent of women who have climaxes (orgasms) during sex need to have their clitoris touched (clitoral stimulation). Most women are unable to have an orgasm through intercourse alone.
The clitoris is only partially visible to the naked eye. The clitoris is actually close to 4 inches in length ( like average non-erect penis) but three fourths of it is hidden from view within a female’s body. It's a buried treasure.
The clitoris grows throughout a woman's life. After menopause the clitoris can become 2.5 times larger than it was when the same woman was a teenager. Another interesting fun fact is that women who have given birth tend to have a larger clitoris – the longest ever measured was 12 inches long.
Yes, there are all kinds of orgasms. Vaginal, Cervical, and G Spot Orgasms do exist, but they are much hard for most women to achieve than a clitoral orgasm. Very few women are able to achieve an orgasm without any kind of clitoral involvement. A clitoral orgasm can last from 10-30 seconds.
Did you know that the word "Clitoris" is from the Greek word for "key"? Understanding and getting to know the clitoris may unlock your sex life forever.
Happy women’s day. Kudos to all the women around the world. You guys rock!
