you during election in a country like Nigeria. Good leadership and managerial skills is what Nigerians want.
Despite his money, Jimoh Ibrahim seemed to have ridiculed himself in a bid to become the governor of Ondo State after woefully loosing at Supreme court to remove his rival Eyitayo Jegede as the PDP candidate. Jimoh Ibrahim is tagged as a bad leader who frequently owes his staff money and has issues manning the affairs of his numerous companies. Many Ondo people wouldn’t want to be under his leadership, thus they celebrated heavily when he was removed and replaced by Eyitayo Jegede as the candidate of the PDP. He would have loved to be part of this election as the candidate but he joined a faction of PDP many see as spoilers and illegal.
From the look of things, Ondo people would rather let one out of 3 eligible men to be their governor. The 3 men are: Olusola Oke; Alliance for Democracy (AD), Eyitayo Jegede; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Rotimi Akeredolu; All Progressive Congress (APC). These “3 wise men” are “equally” loved by Ondo people but in a competition one person must win.
Below is a brief information about them:
OLUSOLA OKE (born April 7, 1956 ) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician. At age 7, he dropped out of school in 1963 and became a professional fisherman. He bagged a degree in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1986 from where he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1987. He was a governorship candidate in Ondo state in the 2012 gubernatorial election. Olusola oke was a top contender for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the state Governorship election coming up in November 2016. He decamped to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) after the APC primaries
ROTIMI AKEREDOLU, (born 21 July 1956) is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who became president of the Nigerian Bar Association in 2008. He went on to the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) to study Law, graduating in 1977. He was called to the Nigerian Bar 1978. On 28 July 2012, On Akeredolu was selected as the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate for Governor of Ondo State during the ACN congress in Akure. On Saturday September 3rd, 2016, he won the sole ticket to represent the All Progressive Congress (APC) at their primary conducted in Ondo State to represent the party in today’s election.
Eyitayo Jegede, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN. He captained the University Volleyball team at the University of Lagos where he had his Law Degree Course between 1980 and 1983. After an interesting years of Higher Education, he was posted to Yola, Adamawa State for his National Youth service Corps where he started his career as a legal practitioner. In the year 1984, Mr. Jegede, qualified as a lawyer after the One Year mandatory programme at the Nigeria Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
