The rally is being held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the Edo state capital. The election comes up September 10, 2016 with 19 aspirants but only 2 candidates are actively involved.
The two key candidates are: Mr Godwin Obaskei from the APC and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The PDP ruled the state for 10 years before the incumbent Governor Adams Oshiomhole took over the state under the platform of the former Action Congress of Nigeria before taking the state to the APC.
