Nigerians are impressed with Nigeria’s U-23 Dream Team which beat Japan 5-4 in its first match on Friday at Manaus, Brazil , in the Rio Olympics. Many took their social media page to congratulate the Dream Team
and wished them continues success in Rio.
However, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung has disclosed that Nigeria will take part in eight sporting events only, at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.
Dalung who expressed disappointment at the level of preparation by athletes ahead of the games however promised that efforts will be made to speed things up.
The Minister also promised that the contingents will be well treated financially in order to ensure better participation at the tournament. The events will be men’s football, basketball, canoeing, table tennis, some track and field athletes and wrestling.
