Hosni Mubarak is the fourth President of Egypt from 1981 to
2011. He was born on this day, May 4, 1928 in Egypt. After his secondary
school education, he attended Egyptian Military Academy where he
received a Bachelor's degree in Military Sciences in 1949. He also has a
Bachelor Degree in Aviation Sciences from Air Force Academy. Before
assuming the office of the president, he worked with Egyptian Airforce
as a Pilot/ Commander and was
promoted to
Air Chief Marshal. He was appointed Vice President of Egypt
by President Anwar Sadat in 1975 and later became president on 14
October 1981, eight days after his boss Sadat's assassination.
Mubarak ruled Egypt for almost 30 years making him one of the longest
serving presidents in Africa. He resigned as president during Egyptian
Revolution in 2011. Mubarak was then ordered to stand trial on charges
of negligence for failing to stop the killing of peaceful protesters
during the revolution. On 2 June 2012, an Egyptian court sentenced
Mubarak to life imprisonment.
He suffered chronic health issues
during the trial, his sentence was however overturned in 2013 and a
retrial was ordered. Mubarak and his sons were convicted on 9 May 2015
of corruption and given prison sentences. Mubarak is detained in a
military hospital and his sons were freed 12 October 2015 by a Cairo
court.

all av our short coming,come to think of it during his tenure as
president.he build his country,unlike our so call leaders.what he was
accused and convicted of our leaders has done worst.

are right Ismail. the thing is, most leaders allow POWER to control
them. Absolute Power is a disease in leadership. that was Mubarak
problem. though he had structures in place during his regime
