HEALTH TIPS: How to Avoid Insomnia & Have a Good Night Sleep

Someone who is suffering from Insomnia wakes up during the night and have trouble going back to sleep and relies on sleeping pills or alcohol to fall asleep. Insomnia can be caused by stress such as job loss or change, death of a loved one, divorce or illness. Environmental factors like noise, light, or extreme temperatures can also cause Insomnia.

What is Insomnia? Insomnia is a sleep disorder that makes a person unable to sleep at night.
Below are tips on how to avoid Insomnia.
1. DON'T SLEEP DURING DAYTIME: Avoid naps or sleeping during the day, if you do it can make it more difficult to sleep at night except you do a Night Shift job and you are sleeping during the day for a purpose.
2. DON'T EXERCISE TOO MUCH BEFORE BEDTIME: You can do your normal exercise during the day. Avoid doing too much exercise minutes before you want to sleep, if not it will keep you awake.
3. HAVE FUN: No matter what you are going through in life, don't allow it to control your mind. If it does, you may have problems sleeping at night. During the day time, engage yourself in enjoyable activity like reading, listening to music, or watching a pleasant movie
4. USE YOUR BEDROOM FOR ONLY SEX: Avoiding placing TV or working tools in your bedroom. Remember that your bedroom is meant for you to sleep and have SEX with your partner.
5. DON'T FORCE YOURSELF TO SLEEP: If you find yourself awake at night, don't try to force yourself to sleep. leave the bedroom and engage your mind in something pleasing like listening to nice music, you won;t even know when sleep will start calling.
6. DON'T SLEEP ALONE: If you are going through trauma such as loss of a death one, business failure and other life challenges. Try to sleep with someone in a room, don't sleep alone. The presence of the person will help you sleep.

@enyinda: you know, people who are religious might not want to use alcohol to sleep. though taking ALCOHOL can make one fall asleep easily at night
