He died on on May 18 but his death was officially announced on May 20, 2009. I believe most of you here have watched episodes of the funny cartoon,
Mickey Mouse during your childhood days or still watch it for
entertainment or educational purpose. What most of us don’t know is that
the man who Mickey Mouse uses his voice died of diabetes in 2009 at the
age of 62. His name is Wayne Allwine, he voiced Mickey Mouse for more
than 30 years.Mickey Mouse is a funny animal cartoon character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks at the Walt Disney Studios in 1928. An anthropomorphic
Mr Allwine was the third man behind Mickey's voice. The first was Walt Disney himself, then Jimmy MacDonald, who became Allwine's mentor and passed him the reins.
Wayne Allwine became the voice of Mickey Mouse in 1977 and was married to the actress, Russi Taylor who voiced “ Minnie Mouse”. His wife was by his side in hospital bed when he died.
Ten of Mickey's cartoons were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, one of which, Lend a Paw, won the award in 1942. In 1978, Mickey became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Mickey Mouse generally appears alongside his girlfriend Minnie Mouse, his pet dog Pluto, his friends Donald Duck, and Goofy, and his nemesis Pete, among others .
