Beautiful Nigerian actress, Genevieve Nnaji was born on May 3, 1979 in Mbaise, Imo State. Her mother was a Nursery School teacher and father an engineer. She is the 4th child of 8 children. She had a daughter named Chimebuka at the age of 18 outside wedlock and is still a single mother.Genevieve started acting at the age of 8 in the 1980’s soap opera entitled “Ripples”. Her first major Nollywood movie was “Most Wanted” in 1998, she was only 19 years. According to reports,
she studied at University of Lagos.
She tried out in the music industry but had a failed music career. In 2004 she released her debut music album titled “One Logologo Line”. The album was unsuccessful, she decided to quit music and focus on her acting career. In 2008, Genevieve Nnaji launched a clothing line, "St. Genevieve",
In 2009, TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey referred her as the Julia Roberts of Africa. She won the 2005 African Movie Academy Best Actress Award. She was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her contribution to Nollywood.
