… President Goodluck Jonathan is not qualified to seek re-election in 2015: …New PDP Claims…

The leadership of the New Peoples Democratic Party has said that President Goodluck Jonathan is not qualified to seek reelection in 2015.
The reasons why he cannot contest, according to the group, are: The 1999 Constitution, an agreement the President entered into and his open statement in Turkey in 2011.
The President had on Monday said that the 1999 Constitution allowed him to be in office for a maximum of eight years.


He had said,
Already, we have a constitution that makes provision for maximum of eight years for anyone who wants to become a President or a governor.
There is no President or governor that all citizens vote for but at the end of the election, if somebody emerges, you must allow the person to work.
If you love your country, you would want your country to work. That does not mean that you will not vote against the person if you don’t like the way he works, but you must allow him to work.
But the New PDP, released a statement via its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze.
Part of the statement reads,
We are worried that Mr. President is intent on running despite his earlier promise not to do so and in spite of the wise counsel of well-meaning Nigerians, including respected elder statesmen.

  John Valentine Come to think of it,the Nigeria constitution allowed every president to run for 8 years,which OBJ did,and Yaradua also did but died remaining 4 years,which Gej assisted him for the remaining 4 years.Now Gej has done his 4 years,remaining 4 years,y won't they allow him to finish his remaining 4yrs?. Pls can some one tell me why gej should not continue?,because he has constitutional rights to contest for another 4yrs be4 some one else will come in.The law makers were the one who brought in second term agender during Obj.If they want to impeach him( Gej)maybe due to one reason or another,that people will understand.Am not advocating for Gej anyway,personaly i don't even like his admistration noting is moving,stealing money up and down,Asuu has being on strike close to 3 months now and nothing has been done about it. Are we talking of those who were send to go and prob police pension scheme,they went there and still did the worst,and today the matter is a forgoten chapter. Nigeria is jst leaking everywhere,pls pardon me for using that word(Nigeria is leaking),but what i said is true. Our country is jst like a property which has no owner,any body can jst go to that property and do what ever he or she likes and nothing happens. Go and see what is happening in ministries,the police,the civil Defence,the army,the Nevy the Air Force,even the national Assembly.IT is only in Naija somebody will read mass communication and they will give he or she an appointment as minister of finance,what did he or she know about financing?,or someone who read medicine,they will appoint he or she as minister of Education, is that his or her area of decipline?. Naija we are jst living by the grace of God,and God will help us amen.
