…How will You Spend This Christmas?...
…. Are you Traveling? Or You have Already Arrived Your Home Town for the XMAS?
…As For Me, Endy Edeson, I will spend the Christmas with my friends at Lagos Bar Beach….
Christmas is just few hours away, and the aroma of the festive period can be perceived in the thin air what with the red and green colouration with some sparkling lights that adorn the streets, offices and residential apartments. Look around you and you would see that hampers of different shapes and sizes have started exchanging hands. It is indeed yuletide again the magical season of love and sharing. The period when families and friends come together to share the much loved customs and traditions which have been around for centuries. How will you be marking yours? Well, some celebrities shared with JOURNALSITS their plans for Christmas.
First on the roll call was Bryan Okwara the Nigerian super model and Mr. Nigeria 2007. He said he is making plans to visit his friends and colleagues in South Africa. “Well for Christmas, I’m planning on taking a trip to visit friends and colleagues in South Africa, Johannesburg, Pretoria and just unwind because the plan is to get away from stress and just have fun. So, it is going to be lavish, waking up late, lazing about and just taking the weight off. I will also be meeting interesting people and maybe visit Nelson Mandela,” he says excitedly.
Another celebrity is a diva, ZOE CHINAKA. She is a musician and a presenter with Nigeria Television Authority 2. For her, she has already started celebrating. “My Christmas has already started because I have my family with me. It is a good thing I am not travelling this year, so the only thing left is to spend time with my sweetheart, rest from all these events, busy schedule and receive lots of gifts.
For NSA NTUK, an actress and director cum MTN Ambassador Christmas is all about sharing love and that is what she would be doing this Christmas, “This Christmas I am starting a movement of sharing the love of God and spreading the spirit of positivity. Everywhere I turn there is suffering, people maltreating one another, mistrusting one another, greed, violence and unforgiving spirit.
It is time to heal the world with positivity and love and a fresh start as we become the sons and daughters of God. My solution is to spread this message through the films I am writing and in my craft of acting. I plan to bring this movement from America to Nigeria in all my films and artistic creations that aim to inspire us all to be better people. And of course, I look forward to sharing a delicious meal with my family on Christmas day.”
CORNEL UDOFIA, a publicist and United Nations Ambassador, Christmas for him apart from supporting Nollywood and his friends, means going to church for thanks giving. “I am going to spend my Christmas by supporting Nollywood Xmas with the Stars which is packaged by Grand Touch pictures owned by Chico and Joy Ejiro. Then from there, I will go over to support my friend Cally Ikpe, the CEO of Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA). On December 25, I will not be going to any event as I will only go to Church and thank God for making our name to become famous in the entertainment world. Then on the 26th I will just go to the beach and have fun with some friends,” he enthused.
Another celebrity, CHINWE OKORO, an executive producer and publisher hopes to spend his Christmas in Lagos in the company of her family after going to church. “After which I would return home and probably watch movies for the rest of the day.”
Unlike Clara, Meg Doris Alabi, Chief Executive Officer Alabi Couture would not be spending her whole Christmas at home resting, she would be unwinding at the beach when she is done with thanks giving in the church. “I will be celebrating my Christmas with my family and loved ones, spending time thanking God for the year and praising Him for the coming year. We will also go to the cinema and beach and have a remembrance for my late dad, Mr. James Alabi. Then crown it all with thanksgiving in my heart.”
Christmas this year will be a quiet one for Ibiyemi Ajakaiye, a musician. “My Christmas will be a quite one with my family. I’m usually working over the holidays but I’m away on vacation this time and excited about catching up with siblings I haven’t seen in over a year.”
For CHARLES NOVIA, a movie producer this Christmas is a resting period for him. “I intend to shut off everything and rest. It’s been a long, hard but rewarding year and I’m looking forward to entering the new year with the spirit of the season, guiding my ventures for 2013 and having a merry little Christmas seems to be the nice way to do it.”
MIMA IKYOR, a diva, will be unwinding with her family and friends because to her the season is a period of coming together to love and share. Then of course Maribel Abii, to the Miss Acting Guild of Nigeria 2012, Yuletide for her spells home coming. “There is this popular saying that charity begins at home. I will get down to my roots in Mbaise, Imo state. I’m organizing a funfair at my place where family, friends and well wishers would come together to catch up on old times.”
IFEOMA ANYIAM, Nollywood screen diva, is heading off for Ghana with her family to mark the Christmas. “I’m taking a short trip to Ghana with my family. I know it’s going to be fun”, she said.
For CHINYERE WILFRED, another Nollywood diva, Christmas is a period of traveling to her maternal home to celebrate. “This Christmas, I hope to catch some fun at my maternal home with my children. I will be traveling to Aguta Local Government Area in Anambra state to enjoy my Christmas. Lots of my friends in the Diaspora would be coming home. So, this is a period of uniting with them to share love.”
Florence Onuma, an actress says she has started enjoying her Christmas. “I even started marking Christmas a week before the real day. On the 20th I had a Nollywood show titled Nollywood on Christmas. But on that Christmas day, I’m going to be in my house, cook and eat together with my family and share out to my neighbours and loved ones. You know Christmas is a day of sharing,” she says, giggling.
There is no dull moment for Estito, a fashion designer especially for this Christmas season. “I and my family will be going to the cinemas and amusement parks for a picnic. I’m also going to be organizing a party for the less fortunate people. I will be giving out gifts to the poor and down trodden as I’m fond of doing every Christmas,” she says on a final note.
