South African hero Nelson Mandela is reported to be in a stable
condition after a day of admission at a military hospital in Pretoria

Mandela’s admission to the hospital for
unspecified medical tests sparked fear among South Africans forcing many
churches to hold special prayers for his recovery.
When South Africa’s president Jacob Zuma visited visited him yesterday, he said Mandela was in a stable condition . ” Madiba is doing well and there is no cause for alarm,” He said
“We wish Madiba all the best. The medical team is assured of our support as they look after and ensure the comfort of our beloved founding president of a free and democratic South Africa,” said Zuma.
Presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj said he accompanied Zuma on the visit to Pretoria, just north of Johannesburg, and found Mandela in good spirits.
“We are assuring the public that Madiba is doing well, he is looking very rested. I accompanied President Zuma, the two talked, they greeted each other, they were warm, and Madiba is looking very rested,” he said.
Maharaj refused to give any details on Mandela’s condition, citing patient confidentiality. He refused to say whether Mandela might spend more time in the hospital.
