Popular American motivational speaker and writer, Zig Ziglar, has passed on. He died on Wednesday after a short battle with pneumonia. He was aged 86. Among other channels, news of his death broke on Facebook, where his admirers extolled his accomplishments as a motivational speaker.
A post on the social media read, “Zig Ziglar passed from this world today after a short bout with pneumonia. Though his time on earth has ended, he is speaking with Jesus now in his heavenly home. The angels in heaven are rejoicing and his family is celebrating a life well lived.”
He was born on November 6, 1926 at Hilary Hinton “Zig” Ziglar in Coffee County, Alabama, US to John and Viola Ziglar. Although he served in World War II, and also had a stint in the Navy, having attended Navy College Training Programme, Ziglar was popularly known as an author, salesman and motivational speaker.
He began doing speaking enagagements in the 1950s as part of his sales job, but eventually developed the medium as a tool for his various motivational enagement.
