34-year-old former Chelsea
striker, Didier Drogba has been caught up in a boardroom power struggle just three
months after signing a £200,000 a week contract with Shanghai Shenhua.
Zhu
Jun, who owns 28.5 per cent of Shanghai Shenhua club, is threatening
to pay only his share of the club’s costs unless he increases his stake
to 70 per cent. This battle at the Chinese Super League side could see
their billionaire chairman stop paying the salaries of the European
imports.
Didier Drogba joined Shanghai Shenhua in May on a
two-and-a-half year deal worth £200,000 a week – and scored twice at the
weekend.
Arsenal wants to fill the gap of Robin van Persie and
have already made enquiries with the Chinese club to see if there is a
way of bringing Drogba back to London, reports The Sun.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are also ready to pounce if Drogba indicates he wants to leave.
