CRIME NEWS: Criminals Disguise as Street Hawkers to Rob Lagosians

During Babatunde Fashola’s administration, cases of armed robbery was at zero level in Lagos but since Akinwumi Ambode assumed office as the governor of Lagos State, reverse is the case. There have been cases of bloody criminal attacks in Lagos banks, traffic and other vulnerable areas. Every year I keep on hearing that Lagos State government has clamp down street/road side hawking but in realty it’s not true. I don’t patronize road side hawkers, I think it’s a risky way of making a living . I still see them in major roads
hawking even today. 

However, the State government has reinstated that it has clamped down street trading and hawking saying “ Some robbers disguise as traders in traffic and rob commuters”.
I still doubt their assertion until I see it fully implemented for at least 1 year.
