Edeson Online News learnt that the South-East opted out of the race because it had produced two national chairmen of the party in the past, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor and Dr. Okwesileze Nwodo.
The decision to zone the chairmanship position of PDP to the South-South and South-West was made at the party’s expanded national caucus meeting in Abuja 10 days ago.
Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff is presently the factional National Chairman of the party while Senator Ahmed Makarfi is the chairman of the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party.
