Edeson Online News reported here last week that Buhari failed to
nominate Ambassadorial candidates from some states because he couldn’t
find qualified candidates for the position.
However, during the screening exercise of 47 Ambassadorial Nominees today July 26, two Ambassadorial nominees failed to recite the National anthem and pledge properly.
The nominees, Ibrahim Isa from Niger state and Vivian Nwunaku Okeke from Anambra state mixed up the National Anthem and pledge when the chairman of the senate committee on Foreign Affairs, Monsurat Sunmonu asked them to recite it. Other senators present burst into laughter...
Senator James Manager who is a member of the committee saved them from the embarrassing moment by correcting them immediately.
..
1. Guys, Is it Compulsory for Public Office Holders to Recite the National Anthem & Pledge?
2. If it is compulsory, Should the Public Office holder be sacked or the Ambassadorial nominees disqualified if they can't recite it?

@mazi
and elee: This development is also a CLARION CALL for all Nigerians to
learn and recite the National Anthem and Pledge. It's not just the
public office holders thing. There are situations a citizen can be
subjected to recite the National Anthem

Whether
recited correctly or not.. D nominee would still sail through.
Shamefully so. But an ambassador who cannot recite our Anthem has no
business being nominated for such person has not interest of Nigeria at
heart
