EDUCATION: Students of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Now Use Firewood to Cook Due to High Price of Kerosene

Nigerians can survive in hard times but hardly endure when they want things fixed quickly. The present political administration is working round the clock to lessen the hardship of Nigerians through ant-corruption
but it seems things are getting worse every day.
The price of things used by the “common man” has gone astronomically high. 1 Litre of Kerosene now sells for N300 as against the normal price of N83. Students of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, are among other Nigerians suffering from this price increase on commodities. The students, Edeson Online News, gathered have resorted to using firewood for cooking and preparing food.
Incase you don’t know anything about Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, let me brief you.
Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana is located in Afikpo, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. The polytechnic was founded in 1981 and is owned by the federal government. It is named after Akanu Ibiam, the First Republic Governor of Eastern Region, Nigeria.
In October 2008 the Polytechnic was selected for establishment of a world class Information and Communication Technology center by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO.
