The Senate's plenary session held today, and president Buhari's
ministerial list was finally unveiled by the senate president Bukola
Saraki. The ministerial list is getting mixed reactions from Nigerians.
Some have applauded it while others have out-rightly condemned some
names on the list. The Senators are saying the President must,
in line with the constitution, submit himself before the Upper Chamber
for screening if he appointed himself Minister of Petroleum. Those on the list are: former Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola,
Rotimi Amaechi, Kayode Fayemi, Chris Ngige, APC National publicity
secretary Lai Mohammed, Senator Udo Udoma Udo, Abubakar Salami SAN,
Ogbonna Onu, Aisha Alhassan, Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Kemi Adeosun,
Adebayo Shittu, Solomon Dalong, Audu Ogbeh, Amina Ibrahim, Emmanuel Ibe
Kachikwu, Suleiman Adamu,, Ibrahim Usman Jubril.
The senate
however condemned an incomplete list from he president, saying the
constitution provides for a nominee from each state of the federation
and that any list that did not cover the 36 states would suffer serious
opposition.
some Nigerians are of the view that Buhari is
recycling people in government instead of bringing new people that are
capable of running the government.
Screening of the ministerial
nominees is to commence on Tuesday, next week, October 13. Senate
President, Dr Bukola Saraki announced the screening date after
announcing the names of the nominees contained in the letter from
President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the curriculum vitae of the nominees will be circulated to the Senators ahead of the screening.

Buhari himself is suppose to be in our history books and not a figure in
21st century Nigerian politics. I cry each time i see heavy

kitchen cabinet, some people are saying he expected to have been the
this and Amechi to that. now that he has picked them for minister some
are still moaning. you guys should know that you can't be minister if
you are not politician or do you think he will come to market place to
pick ministers. and APC, nigeria politics and constitution doesn't give

I had the same view before not until femi falana was mentioned in the
rumoured list and ekiti apc are saying he's not even a politician, how
could he be minister. if you follow this minister saga very well you'll
know that technocrats can't be minister unless he's already a
politician. that's the law. And what we don't know is that saint don't
do politics and if they do. They are not going to get anywhere.
