Sunday Ogorchukwu Oliseh shortly known as Sunday Oliseh is 41 today, Monday, September, 14. Oliseh is one of the most successful Nigerian football ever, winning a
series of trophies including the 1994 African cup of Nations and gold in
the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, United States with the Dream Team.
Oliseh was a physical, technical defensive midfielder who played for a
number of European clubs like AFC Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus
F.C. Oliseh played 54 international matches and scored two goals for Nigeria playing in two FIFA World Cup tournamnetS.
He is mostly remembered for scoring the winning goal in the group stage
match against Spain in the 1998 World Cup, as Nigeria prevailed 3–2.
With the game squared at 2-2, Oliseh fired a clearance into the corner
of Spain's net, to give Nigeria a famous victory over Spain.
After retiring from in January 2006, at the age of 31, worked as a
pundit, sport consultant and FIFA Technical committee member.
He managed Belgian lower league side Vervietois between 2008 and 2009 before he was handed the Eagles job in July, 2015.Credit: Pulse Ng.
