Another
Nollywood actor needs help urgently to restore his sight. Veteran actor
Bruno Iwuoha was a guest on a radio station in Abuja recently where he
opened up on his current battle with a life threatening disease. The
talented actor talked about his battle with diabetes and how he has been
battling Glaucoma for years without money for corrective surgery. Mr
Iwuoha who said diabetes has claimed his sight told the host of Brekete
Family Program on 104.5FM in Abuja that he never knew he had diabetes
until a violent armed robbery attack that landed him in hospital. A
series of test carried out on him revealed that he has diabetes and
since then he has been managing it until the condition affected his
sight.
Hear him:
And it has robbed me of the job [acting]. And now, if I get a script, it will be hard for me to read it very well. And if I read it, if I strain my eyes for so long, it would look as if someone would lead me around the house or anywhere I want to go because it will affect the only one [eye]. So that’s my problem.”
The actor said he needs the help of kind-hearted Nigerians because he has been referred to a US-based hospital where he is required to have N3.5million.
So far he has about N200,000.
He said he got to know that Jonathan gave AGN money but Ibinabo Fiberesima never assisted him with any money when he reached out to her.

Hmmm.......and
some small small boys n girls in the entertainment industry will blow
N5m on boozs n hair do. Non of the young artist with all the money they
get from endorsement by Telco could think of setting up a foundation to
help n support old veteran artist who lay the foundation upon which they
stand today.

U mean all these years u are in the Nollywood u didn't invest ur money for rainy days? Well, may God help u.

Is
this 3.500m naira too much for Nigerians to bring out and help the
dying man, before blaming him for not investing his money for raining
days? His life should be saved first before querying him.

@
Onyekachi Ibeh, ur brash attitude is uncalled for. How much do u think
these old veterans were paid during their time? Can u compare their
living expenses vis-a-vis their meagre income to the young n reckless
artist of today? Most of these old veterans had kids they train in
universities, they have relations meet their needs. Most of these
relations have over bloated image of these artists for the mere fact
they see their own on tv, hence they place unnecessary demand. Time n
chances is what happened and it can happen to another. Dr Sid made more
money in his short time as an entertainer than his daddy(late Justice
Esiri). Do u know what? Dr Sid's education and adventure into the
entertainment industry was as result of his daddy's job n income. Show
some sympathy, the kind of ailment most of these old folks suffer is not
the type their meagre savings can handle or sustain the treatment. If u
had made ur statement to one of these young lad throwing money around
on jewellery, booze and women , i won't mind. Maybe we should direct
this 'brashness' to the association in charge of the industry to better
organise themselves or to the Telcom to at least find a way to using the
old hands of the industry as their brand ambassadors.
