Murray-Bruce has insisted that he would give 50% of his wardrobe
allowance to workers in Osun State and the State Governor cannot stop
him. Osun State workers are yet to receive salaries in 7 months. This
comes after Governor Aregbesola of Osun State hit out at Ben Bruce
gestures as being ridiculous, telling him to rather give his allowances
to PDP states that had similar remuneration problems.
Ben Bruce
had this to say on his twitter account, “I’ll take whatever attacks
come my way but nothing and nobody can dissuade me from doing what my
conscience directs in helping my fellow man,”
On ridiculing the
governor, he said: “The month of Ramadan is here. Many unpaid workers
will fast. With what will they break their fast? I thought of that and
it moved me to act”
“I may not be a Muslim, but I respect Islam
and I believe that it is wrong for me to respond to any attack during
the Holy month of Ramadan,” he said
MY VIEW:
I think Ben Bruce is nothing but an attention seeker. He should face his people and leave Aregbesola to solve his problem. Will his allowance curb Osun workers agony? Why donate the money to them if not just to get publicity. The other day he was bragging that he has solar powered car, suggesting all Nigerians should go solar to curb excessive dependent on petrol. The question on my lips is “how many Nigerians can afford a solar car right now?

i live in osun. Dont assume what you are looking at from the outside. i
want u to know dat this is nigeria where we politicize everytin. the
Governor make some statement about the federal allocation money he's
been getting from the federal since he assume office and i dont think
any newspaper published it since he made it known. He also said he has
never get his own salary since he assume the office. i didnt heard dat
anobody made any statement about that as well. I think they just want
him to fail becos of his landmark achievement in Osun. i heard how
people treated Murtala Muhammad when he was trying to be a gud Samaritan
back in his days...How is economy of a nation going to be boom wen the
politician are only the rich people and when there is no even
distribution of national cake.. God help us in Nigeria.
