First in the NEWS is this BIG STORY around Owerri, IMO STATE:

1.   ROTTEN CHICKEN Has been CONFISTICATED in That Area:
Large quantity of rotten chicken has been consfiticated in Owerri, Imo State by Consumer Protection council-CPC. The State coordinator of Consumer Protection Council in Imo State made this known to newsmen in a two-day sensitization workshop for market people and allied products marketer s in the area. Edeson Online News correspondent, Mr. Chris Okafor who attended the workshop reported that Imo State was becoming a dumping ground for fake and unwholesome products  and that CPC is on the verge to stop the circulation of such products in Owerri as well as other states in Nigeria.

2.            KADUNA STATE to Have Steady Power Supply Very Soon::
Kaduna State governor, Patrick Yakuwa has reiterated his commitment to ensure that the State is ranked among the best in Nigeria. He is taking steps to build a 30 mega watts of Solar Power that will generate electricity for the State in the next 25 years. He revealed to Newsmen that the state is partnering with a German firm for the construction of the solar power which is worth over 50 million Euros. He added that the project will provide employment for youths as the German experts will train them In operating and maintenance of the machine.

3.            EBUBE NWAGBO is now A BUSINESS WOMAN:
Beautiful and sexy Nollywood actress, Ebube Nwagbo, has made a name for herself in the movie industry. Since shooting into the limelight with her first lead role in ‘Arrested By Love’ Ebube’s loving aura and scintillating talent has won for her thousands of fans. In a chit-chat with Newsmen, the curvy Anambra state-born actress opened up that she has ventured into business and now owns a hair-line called Posh Hair.
4.            PREZZO Came To Nigerian Without Any Significant Reason::                                                                                     Last week  it was reported that one of the BIG BROTHER finalists Prezzo visited Nigeria and held a press conference with journalists. The controversial Kenyan boy, PREZZO told Newsmen  that he came to Nigeria for one reason and one reason only; to find Goldie and maybe 'finish what they started in the Big Brother House'. When asked if he planned to propose to the singer, Prezzo replied yes! He's trying to make people believe he hasn't seen or spoken to Goldie since he came to Nigeria...but they definitely have met! But things are a little complicated. Prezzo maybe available but Goldie may not be available. It would be noted that PREZZO has been separated from his wife for over three years now.
5.         LIZ BENSON to Feature In New NOLLYWOOD Movie::
After many years of being away from Nollywood, the respected and talented actress Liz Benson who became an evangelist many years back, has returned to Nollywood. According to our correspondent, the screen goddess, Liz Benson is currently on a set of a movie with Nextpage Production. The movie will be released before the end of this year.


               
6.            IYANYA Dating A Ghanaian Actress?:                                                                                                                              It has been rumoured that Nigerian born ‘Kukere’ singer, IYANYA is dating a Ghanaian actress, The singer and Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson were spotted at Elegushi beach last Sunday...and the dating rumour started. There were even rumours that Yvonne stayed at Iyanya's Lekki home while she was in town last week. But Iyanya has denied they are an item. He says they are just friends.

7.         MAN bags 27 Years In JAIL::
Anders Behring Breivik, the man who killed 77 people in a bomb attack and gun rampage just over a year ago, was last week sentenced to 21 years in prison by a Norwegian court. Breivik, 33, was charged with voluntary homicide and committing acts of terror over the attacks in Oslo and Utoya Island on July 22, 2011.
8.         TRAGEDY Struck School Children In KENYA:                                                                               Kenya's education minister has sacked two top education officers after the deadly fire at a private junior school near the lakeside city of Kisumu. Eight girls died on last week’s Wednesday night when they were unable to open the dormitory's door to escape the blaze. Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo  said it is a tragic incident that should not have happened.
9.            DOZENS Die In Venezuela’s Oil Explosion:
Last week was not a happy week for the people of Venezuela. World News headlines reported that more than nine persons died when the Venezuela’s largest Oil Refinery exploded in flames. Reports say the refinery is one of the biggest refineries in the world capable of producing over 450,000 barrels of oil per day.
10.       KODAK is Bankrupt:                                                                                                                         Debt-struck photography pioneer Kodak says it may sell off its still-camera film and photo paper divisions. The firm has already stopped making digital cameras as part of efforts to reduce its losses after filing for bankruptcy protection in January. It has also been trying to raise funds by selling off more than 1,100 digital imaging patents. It had originally planned to announce a buyer last week, but said "discussions continue" and a deal might not happen.

11.       NIGERIA’S FALCONETS Has Qualified For QUARTER-FINALS In Female U-20 World Cup:.

Edeson Online  News  Sports Correspondent, Miss Ruth Williams just filed in a report from the world of Sports. According to her, Team Nigeria, Korea Republic, Japan and Mexico have qualified for Quarter-finals in the on-going Female Under-20 World Cup. Our correspondent Ruth Williams said it was a happy moment for Nigerians when Falconets defeated Italian team by 4-0 yesterday to qualify for the Quarter-Finals and topped their Group with 7 points. Meanwhile, Nigeria and Mexico will meet this Thursday for the quarter-finals games while Japan will slog it out with Korea Republic.
