1.         IYANYA Releases Kukere REMIX: One of the reigning musicians in Nigeria, Iyanya is at it again. This time, the handsome young man who just bought his own mansion at Lekki Lagos has released the remix of his hit banging song, “kukere”. Our entertainment correspondent informed the news desk that Iyanya featured ‘Oliver Twist’ crooner D’banj in the remix of ‘kukere’.

2.         MAY D now KEEPING Malice With P-Square: A reliable insider told EDESON Online NEWS that fast rising Nigerian musician popularly known as MAY D has left SQUARE RECORDS. Our sources say MAY D who featured in P-Square’s song ‘Chop My Money’ is no longer in good terms with the twin singers P-squares and there are no signs that they will reconcile any longer.  Another informant who pleaded anonymity revealed to EDESON NEWS in a telephone chat that MAY D and P-Sqaure are quarrelling because of a woman. 

2.         NUDE SWIMMING in Galilee: An American congressman, Kelvin Yoder has officially apologized for swimming naked in the Sea of Galilee while on an official trip to Israel in August 2011.

3.         HEAVY RAIN to Fall In NIGERIA: Nigeria’s Ministry of Environment has predicted heavy rain in 23 states which will cause flooding in the areas to be affected. The rain is expected to start this week and end next month.

4.         LAGOS Hotels Are Too EXPENSIVE: According to a recent research by the Hogg Robinson Group, hotels in Lagos State are the second most expensive hotels in the world.

5.         NUPENG May Strike Tomorrow: NUPENG is threatening to go on nationwide strike tomorrow, Wednesday August 22, 2012 if the federal government fails to pay the arrears of fuel subsidy.

6.         RESTING DAY in JAPANESE U-20 Female World Cup: Today is resting day in the ongoing U-20 female World Cup in Japan. Yesterday, Ghanaian team started the games with a poor performance after American team defeated them by 4-0. It would be recalled that Nigerian team won South Korean team 2-0 on Sunday in the opening game of the tournament. Tomorrow at exactly 7.am Nigeria will meet Brazil for their second match. It would be noted that Nigeria and Ghana are the only African representatives in the U-20 Female world cup this year.

9.         SOMALI FORMS PARLIAMENT: Somali’s first formal parliament in more than 20 years has been sworn in, in the capital, Mogadishu with a new MPs preparing to elect a new president.

10.       MALI forms UNITY GOVERNMENT: A new government of National Unity has been formed in Mali in latest effort to restore  stability after a military coup in March this year.

9.         SUZUKI Car FACTORY Reopened In INDIA: News coming out say Maruti Suzuki’s Car factory in India has re-opened, after a month-long lock-out following violent clashes. 

10.       CHINESE WOMAN in BIG TROUBLE: A Chinese woman, GU Kaila the wife of disgraced Chinese politician BO Xilai has been given a suspended death sentence for the murder of a British businessman Neil Heywood.

11.       JAPANESE Journalist KILLED: reports say Japanese journalist Mika Yamamota has been killed reporting fighting in Aleppo, Syria.
