AFCON 2019: Nigeria Beat Burundi 1-0 In Opening Match

AFC The Super Eagles have not had the best of preparations for the continental showpiece, drawing 0-0 to Zimbabwe and losing 1-0 to Senegal in their last two warm-up matches.

However, Gernot Rohr’s men Super Eagles of Nigeria sought to take maximum points off Burundi, who are making their debut at the tournament, with 1-0 win. Ighalo scored the winning goal for Super Eagles.

The match kicked off at 6pm in the UK and Nigeria - that is 7pm in Egypt and Burundi. The match was held at Alexandria Stadium.
