Gernot Rohr (born 28 June 1953) is a German manager and former footballer. He has two sons who are footballers, Oscar and Emmanuel. His own father, Phillip Rohr was also a footballer for German National Team.
Gernot Rohr was the coach of Gabon when Gabon co-hosted the African Nations Cup with Equatorial Guinea in 2010. On 7 October 2017, his Nigeria-led team became the first African side to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 1–0 win against Zambia.
He is currently the manager of the Super Eagles under the control of the Nigeria Football Federation. He became manager of Niger national football team in September 2012. He resigned in October 2014.
On 22 December 2015, he was sacked by Burkina Faso national football team as manager.
He was shortlisted for the Guinea national team job in July 2016 but was not given the job.
In August 2016, he was named manager of the Super Eagles of Nigeria by Amaju Pinnick, the chief of the Nigeria Football Federation.
In 1996, he managed Girondins Bordeaux to the UEFA Cup final, where they lost to Bayern Munich over two legs, 0–2 away and 1–3 at home.
