Buhari Finally Signs Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill Into law

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday signed the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill into law.
Buhari signed the bill into law at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, barely two days after he promised to do so.

The law reduces the age qualification for president from 40 to 30; governor from 35 to 30; senator from 35 to 30; House of Representatives membership from 30 to 25 and State House of Assembly membership from 30 to 25.

In his Democracy Day address on Tuesday, the President had promised to sign the bill into law “in a few days’ time.”

President Buhari who made the plea Thursday, when he signed the “Not Too Young To Run” bill into law at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa Abuja, told the youths to stop any campaign for the forthcoming Elections and keep their Presidential ambition till 2023.

I'm so much in love with this particular news. I see Goodluck and Jega scenario coming to play for the second time.

Endy Edeson

@Conquer: How about him saying that the youths should forget 2019 presidential ambition?

What about the affordability, can the younger generation (age 30 & above) from a humble background afford the campaign/election bill??? I wish he could also look into the cost of running elections in Nigeria!

Endee Saint Mark

Good one but INEC should the money to purchase form

Endy Edeson

@Daniel: Hahahahaha. Politics is for the rich not for the poor.

MARK: I don't understand your question. can you rephrase it?

Daniel Orji

That is to say...it will still rotate within the children of the elite(the same politicians who stole our common wealth) that's why am not dancing about it. Endy, it's only in Nigeria that you need to have up to N50M to run election....how many of our youth can afford that?

Iam Lucky Blings

Even if the youth can afford 50 million to contest elections they will use efcc to ruin our ambition this is monkey 🐒 and banana 🍌 strategy
