Karl Marx Statue Unveiled In Germany To Celebrate His 200th Birthday

The western German city of Trier has unveiled a statue of Communist philosopher Karl Marx to commemorate 200 years since his birth. More than 300 events were organized to mark the occasion, which also drew protesters.

Karl Marx ( born 5 May 1818 – died 14 March 1883) was a German philosopher , economist , historian , political theorist , sociologist , journalist and revolutionary socialist .
Marx, one of the fathers of socialist thought, authored the "Communist Manifesto" in 1848 and later "Das Kapital" (Capital), both of which had a significant impact on the politics and conflicts of the 20th century.

In October 1835 at the age of 17, Marx travelled to the University of Bonn wishing to study philosophy and literature, but his father insisted on law as a more practical field. Due to a condition referred to as a "weak chest", Marx was excused from military duty when he turned 18.
Although studying law, he was fascinated by philosophy and looked for a way to combine the two, believing that "without philosophy nothing could be accomplished".

Marx's theories about society, economics and politics—collectively understood as Marxism —hold that human societies develop through class struggle . In capitalism , this manifests itself in the conflict between the ruling classes (known as the bourgeoisie ) that control the means of production and the working classes (known as the
proletariat ) that enable these means by selling their labour power in return for wages. Employing a critical approach known as historical materialism , Marx predicted that, like previous socio-economic systems, capitalism produced internal tensions which would lead to its self-destruction and replacement by a new system:

socialism . For Marx, class antagonisms under capitalism, owing in part to its instability and crisis-prone nature , would eventuate the working class' development of class consciousness, leading to their conquest of political power and eventually the establishment of a classless, communist society constituted by a free association of producers . Marx actively pressed for its implementation, arguing that the working class should carry out organised revolutionary action to topple capitalism and bring about socio-economic emancipation.

His radical theory says that citizen should not pay taxs but that the government should use the aveliable resouces to provide for the citizen. He was also one of the founding fathers of sociology. I love his work, He also said that religion has become the opium of the masses, meaning that the high class use religion to cajour christians and muslims that their reward is in heaven and they will forget about the affair of this world.

when I was in my twenties, I was a pure Marxist Leninist because of his stand on capitalism without human face. With time, I have diluted my Marxist ideology. Rest in peace "Great Thinker".
