Maitama Sule: Northern Youths Wear GEJ Mask To Welcome Him On Condolence Visit

Contrary to stories that Goodluck Jonathan is not loved in the north, some Kano youths yesterday wore GEJ mask when he visited the state for late Maitama Sule's condolence.Former President Goodluck Jonathan stormed Kano on Saturday, July 8, 2017 amid cheers from residents of the state
who trooped out to welcome him.

Jonathan, who was in the state to condole with the family of the late Maitama Sule, also visited the palace of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Yusuf Maitama Sule (1 October 1929 – 3 July 2017) was a Nigerian politician, acclaimed orator diplomat elder-statesman. In 1955-1956 he was the chief whip of the Federal House of Representatives. In early 1979, he was the presidential candidate of the National Party of Nigeria but lost to Shehu Shagari.
