Stay Indoors, Don’t Go To Ikorodu. Deadly Orò Festival Holds Today

Oro Festival is an event celebrated by towns and settlements of Yoruba Origin. It is an annual traditional festival that is of patriarchal nature, as it is only celebrated by Male descendants who are paternal natives to the specific locations
where the particular event is taking place.

During the festival, females and non indigenes stay indoors as oral history has it that Oro must not be seen by women and non-participating people. The ceremonies surrounding the celebration of Oro differs from town to town, and one is often called after the death of a monarch.

Orò festival holds today in Ikorodu, you have been warned not to go to Ikorodu until next week. It is a diabolical event, many people die during Orò .

Godwin Epu

In his 21st century @ Ede?

Endy Edeson

@Godwin: Goodmorning brother. I don't like evil festival at all. For faster development, Lagos and other States that practise outdated and diabolic tradition should abolish it. Unnecessary Ancient culture holds no sway in modern days.

Farotimi Oluwatosin Emmanuel

Dont mind this mumu, depe,Omugo,Olodo, idle fellows that move on with this evil and lies.. Oro is humanbeing, why will they block people from their business because of their idleness..

Let someone remind them that there is JAMB today ooo...

Jeremiah Ademolu

Not every part but the main ikorodu town, like ladega, ita elewa...but it is better for women and non-indigine stay in-door or no go area to avoid...Endy Edeson this is masqurades picture nao, show us the pix of oro hahahahaha. Wonder why this nonsense in this 21st century NONSENSE! They need deliverance joor

Endy Edeson

@Ademolu: Hmmm. I even tried posting the masquarade pic. I don't feel comfortable with barbaric things. The main oro pics might even scare lots of readers here. But, Masquerading isn't it part of Oro? @Farotimi: The Jamb candidiates in Ikorodu should be very careful

Jeremiah Ademolu

They used to pratice this in Shagamu in the year past but today there's nothing like oro in the day anymore expect for special ritual which i'm not even in support

Endy Edeson

@Jeremiah: Let me tell you, I am a FREETHINKER. I believe if you don't participate or acknowledge the so called "spirit beings" they won't have anything to do with you. The evil beings only attack those that worship it.

Jeremiah Ademolu

Endy Edeson masqurade isn't part at all, am from ijebu and i know they're totally different, infact this evil minded men use to attack each other

Jeremiah Ademolu

@endy we serve INCOMPARABLE GOD! I hate anything fetish, and we are more than conqueror, don't you notice i only make jest of them

Endy Edeson

@Jeremiah: Sure. Right from my childhood days in Port-Harcourt I always rebuke ancient tradition. Thanks for your insightful comment. NATURE will protect us from evil.

Henry Agbai Osiri

Yoruba's are too diabolic for my liking.

Jeremiah Ademolu

Wonder why some people can't do without bringing tribe into everything, i travel a lot and i know the level of ritual and the so call diabolic in their place. Is all about Africa black continents, and to mention other continents like Asia, in China you dare not enter with Bible or Qurian, Indian worship monkeys, cows, water, goddess...but I know God is my creator and the only one worthy of my worship.
