A Nigerian, Prof. Tijjani Bande Appointed Acting President UN General Assembly

A Nigerian, Prof. Tijjani Bande has been appointed as the Acting President to preside over the 81st Plenary Meeting of UN General Assembly at the UN headquarters.



Prof. Bande is the Nigeria’s Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the UN. He presided over the General Assembly following the absence of the President of the Assembly, Peter Thomson, who was on an official travel to the Central African Republic.

@Obanla: Yeah, THANK YOU. it is actually in traditional and electronic media but not making waves as it supposed to. I think it's a big height for Nigeria to occupy the UN presidency even though it's just temporary.
