Reports reaching Edeson Online News say Kenny Ogungbe has retired as Managing Director of Raypower Fm and has also established his own radio station – “Kennis 104.1 Fm”. A longtime staff of the station, Ambrose Olutayo Somide has been appointed as the new Managing Director.
Kehinde "Kenny" Ogungbe, is a Nigerian DJ, music producer, television presenter and music executive. He is the founder of Kennis Music and the CEO alongside Dayo "D1" Adeneye.
In 2012, he was appointed Managing Director of Raypower FM. He is also Non Executive Director, DAAR Communications Plc.
Although, Kenny is no longer the Managing Director of Raypower Fm, he is still in good terms with the management of DAAR communications. He left in mutual agreement with his boss, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
Edeson Online News learnt from authoritative source that Kenny’s plan to establish his own radio station started far back in 1999 as an employee of DAAR Communication. He didn’t want his boss, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi to know about it because he feared he might not be happy. Surprisingly, when his boss, Dokpesi learnt of his intention he helped him secure the radio license, Kennis Fm 104.1
However, Kennis Music International will still be aired on Raypower and other sister stations.
