Gambia's President-Elect, Adama Barrow Reportedly Killed By Gunmen

News making the rounds says the acclaimed winner of recently held Gambia's presidential election, Adama Barrow has been killed by unknown gunmen. We learnt the assailants overpowered the security guards
of Mr. Barrow, leaving two of the guards dead and other six injured from gunshots. Before his death, Barrow vowed to take office on January 19 despite the refusal of outgoing President Yahya Jammeh

Pundits are of the opinion that President Yahya Jammeh, is the ‘prime suspect’ but he has already denied any involvement in the incident. Jameh said on Saturday that a decision of the ECOWAS to send troops to overthrow his government was a “declaration of war”

Following the reports that threw social media into frenzy over the rumoured assasination of Gambia's President-elect, Adama Barrow, the President elect, has come out to dispel the rumours confirming he is hale and hearty. Adama, through his twitter handle (@Adama_barrow) said: 'We would like to inform you that the President-elect is alive and well.'' It was earlier reported by CBN TV that the President elect has been killed by unknown assailants. The unconfirmed report from the medium says 'the assailants overpowered the security guards of Mr Barrow, leaving two of the guards dead and six others injured from gun shots. However, Mr. Barrow has confirmed he is alive and keeping well.
