Pope Saint John Paul II was born on 18 May 1920 in Poland. He is the second longest-serving pope in history who was the leader of the Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005 after Pope Pius IX, who served for nearly 32 years from 1846 to 1878. Pope John Paul was succeeded by Pope Benedict XVI.
Pope John Paul II died at age 84 on April 2, 2005.

It was earlier reported today that Members of the Civilian Joint Force operating in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State have rescued one of the abducted Chibok girls.
