Pope Saint John Paul II was born on 18 May 1920 in Poland. He is the second longest-serving pope in history who was the leader of the Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005 after Pope Pius IX, who served for nearly 32 years from 1846 to 1878. Pope John Paul was succeeded by Pope Benedict XVI.
Pope John Paul II died at age 84 on April 2, 2005.

Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, have been banned from embarking on a strike action tomorrow by the National Industrial Court, NIC, sitting in Abuja today. The President of the court, Justice Babatunde Adejumo, gave the order on Tuesday and it is to last for 7 days.
